SCAPA is the Spring Creek Academy Parents' auxiliary - a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the social and educational experiences of our students at Spring Creek Academy. SCAPA is open to all families of current Spring Creek Academy students., and volunteer opportunities exist at many levels of involvement.
Through minimal fund raising, donations and volunteer participation, SCAPA is able to assist with a variety of service projects throughout the school year.
SCAPA maintains an ongoing teacher wish list program, helping provide teachers with extra items and support for their classroom lessons.
SCAPA provides support for Classroll, the web-based system used by Spring Creek teachers, students and parents to access and manage classroom assignments and grades.
SCAPA also maintains the student directory, which contains contact information for students and families that choose to be listed.
Spring Creek Academy holds a number of events throughout the year for which SCAPA provides support;
The Annual Ice Cream Social - Held in August, the Ice Cream Social is the first Open House of the year, where families collect student schedules, meet the teachers and other students, visit the classrooms and join SCAPA.
Open House Events - SCAPA assists with the coordination and hosting of the Spring Creek Open Houses, providing refreshments and volunteers.
Chalk-Talks - These informal social gatherings are held at the school to give parents a chance to stop by, enjoy refreshments and meet with Mrs. Morrell and various staff. Chalk talks are held at different times of the day throughout the year to accommodate a variety of schedules. The final Chalk-Talk of the year features Mrs. Morrell's "State of the School" address.
Holiday Party - each year, SCAPA hosts the Holiday Party for the students, typically on the last Thursday before the Winter Break. Students enjoy two hours of fun, food and games at the school.
End-of-Year Party - at the end of the school year in the Spring, SCAPA hosts the End-of-Year party for all students. Generally held at an outside entertainment venue, students enjoy a few hours of activities, such as bowling or games and refreshments.
SCAPA also provides support and assistance with other parties, including a Valentines party, as well as student-organized events, such the student councils' Fall Festival.
In addition to the student-centered events, SCAPA also hosts teacher appreciation lunches throughout the year.
